Oven-Barbecued Spareribs

Ingredients

  • 1 k. pork spareribs, cut into 2-rib portions
  • 1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsps. vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp. grated onion
  • 2 tsps. salt
  • 2 tsps. chili powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat over to 325°F. Arrange spareribs in single layer in large roasting pan (17″ x 11″). Roast until fork-tender, about 1 hour.
  2. To Prepare glaze:
  3. In a medium bowl, stir tomato paste, water, vinegar, honey, brown sugar, oil, onion, salt and chili powder until well blended. Roast 30 minutes longer, brushing ribs frequently with some glaze.
  4. To serve, arrange ribs on warm, large platter. (Makes 6 servings)
