Lasagna A La Revilla

Ingredients

  • 450 gms ground beef
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 pc oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp basil
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 450 gms cottage cheese or 1 carton ricotta cheese (15 oz)
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tbsps parsley flakes
  • 1/2 k lasagna noodles, cooked
  • 1/2 cup mozarella cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. Place ground beef and garlic in 2-quart casserole, cook covered until beef is no longer pink. Stir halfway through cooking time. Drain.
  2. Blend in water, tomato paste, oregano, salt, sugar, basil and pepper. Cook, covered for 6 to 8 minutes or until boiling.
  3. Blend cottage cheese, 1/2 of Parmesan cheese, egg and parsley flake in a small bowl.
  4. Layer half of noodles in 2-quart dish. Cover noodles with half of cheese mixture, half of mozarella cheese and half of meat sauce. Repeat layers.
  5. Cover loosely with heavy duty plastic wrap. Bake covered in a microwave oven (full power) for 13 to 18 minutes, or until heated thoroughly. Sprinkle top generously with Parmesan cheese and garnish with fresh parsley.
