Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter or margarin
- 1/3 cup chopped onion
- 1/3 cup chopped celery
- 4-5 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 head lettuce, finely shredded
- 4 slices ham, diced
- 1/2 cup all-purpose cream
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour dispersed in
- 1/4 cup water
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Melt butter in a saucepan.
- Saute onions and celery until soft.
- Add the broth and bring to a rolling boil.
- Stir in lettuce, ham, cream, and dispersed flour.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Continue cooking over medium heat until it boils again.
