Bamboo Shoots And String Beans Adobo

Thinly sliced bamboo shoots cooked with string beans, vegemeat and vegetable broth.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 kilo bamboo shoots, sliced thinly and blanched
  • 5 segments garlic, crushed
  • 4 cups string beans, cut into 1-inch lengths
  • 1/4 cup kalamansi juice 1 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup vegemeat, cut Fine
  • 1/2 cup vegetable broth
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil, sauté garlic and onion.
  2. Add vegemeat.
  3. Add vegetables and stock and let simmer until vegetables are tender.
  4. Add kalamansi juice and simmer until liquid evaporates. Season with salt.

    vegemeat is also known as gluten, it’s imitation meat often eaten by vegetarians. It’s made from soybeans and it’s very high in protein. You have to try it!
